Ultimate Guide: The best Italian restaurants in San Francisco - November 2, 2018

“My definition of a favorite Italian restaurant includes the attributes of fairly easy parking, casual familiarity and a plate of pillow-y gnocchi. This neighborhood trattoria opened six years ago in West Portal and quickly became a spot for special dinners for my family of four — whether celebrating a birthday or simply a Friday night out. With swift yet warm service, this cozy restaurant welcomes with classic Southern Italian fare such as eggplant parmigiana, which is rich with smoky eggplant bathed in a fresh and simple tomato sauce.”

Mamma knows best at this West Portal hot spot, with home cooking imported straight from the kitchen of the owner’s Italian mother, Mamma Francesca. One bite of her lasagna, rich with creamy ricotta and hearty Bolognese, will have you cheering “Mamma mia!” - 2015 Michelin Review

Trattoria Da Vittorio worthy of trip to West Portal – August 16, 2013

Jaslin Yu’s Weibo

“There is a new Italian restaurant, Trattoria da Vittoria open in San Francisco. There was a line waiting in front of the door at 5:00 in the afternoon, no joke! This restaurant serves traditional homestyle Italian dishes. The owner’s mom came from Italy to work on the menu and guide the kitchen staff. Every dish I tried was delicious. The Nutella chocolate roll on the dessert menu was exceptional!”
